One Step Closer

One Step Closer

So it’s been almost 3 weeks since my most recent surgery.

Back in February, I had surgery on my left thumb, and this time it was my right thumb taking the knife, or scope as it were.  Fortunately, everything went well and I am on the mend.  I would thank Mrs. Narc for all of her love and support in this difficult time, however she never visits this site anymore.

Her mantra of “one step closer” has been most beneficial in my times of doubt though, so thanks to her anyhow.

Here are a couple of pictures featuring my new Pink Cast Of Enlightenment before it was defaced by the climbing team.

4 more weeks of imprisonment in the Pink Cast Of Enlightenment and my plans for a huge 2nd half of the climbing year will be set in motion. South Dakota, Colorado, Devil’s Lake, Red River Gorge, Red Rocks, The Gunks and more???  Let’s hope so…

    Hmm…I feel strangely better 🙂

Actually, the weirdest part of this surgery is how little pain is involved. They did a different method of ligament tightening that is pretty painless however the joint has to remain motionless for the surgery to “take” so to speak. Kind of weird having this large cast on and not feeling any pain, but I’ll take it.

Ok, maybe some people defaced it, but I like to think that we made it better. Like the graffiti “art” on the sides of trains, it will give you something to pass the time with at Ass-Bag.

Also view the Mountain Project thread and guidebook entry. supposedly has potential for 20-30 problems or so on limestone thats good in some areas bad in others. The dodge county parks page says there are 30-50 foot “drop offs” so maybe some potential for ropes as well. kind of sounds like the limestone version of the dodge.

Why is it that now that I am hurt I find out about all these places to climb in WI. 45 mins from Pewaukee!!?

I am interested however the weather forecast for tomorrow looks horrible. Not good cast weather. If it isn’t raining I am in.

Resole that shit with that 5.10 rubber you’re always propagandizing about. You could get the seldom seen cast-jam.

You say propaganda, I say The Truth

Rain + Cast + 80 degree temps = trip to ortho for replacement cast
